ERB Course Qualifications for Registaration
Placement-tied Courses (Generally Full-Time)
1. Eligible employees in Hong Kong(i.e., individuals legally residing in Hong Kong and free to work without conditions, including permanent residents and newcomers who have settled in Hong Kong);
2. Aged 15 or above;
3. Applicants must possess the abilities, qualifications, and physical requirements specified by the course they are applying for. Individual courses may have additional entry requirements based on industry/position licensing conditions or legal requirements.
4. Applicants must be unemployed,out of work, or out of school and must demonstrate a desire to work.
5. All applicants must pass eligibility checks, interviews, and entrance exams (if applicable) to be formally accepted and placed in classes.
6. Applicants may enroll in a maximum of two Placement-tied Courses within one year (calculated based on the application date and the start date of the first Placement-tied Course sat tended within the past year, including cases where enrollment was confirmed but not attended, or where the course was started but not completed).
Generic Skills / Skills Upgrading Courses (Part-Time / Evening Fee-Based Certificate Courses)
1. Applicants must meet the above criteria (1-3).
2. Applicants may enroll in more than one half-time or evening non-Placement-tied Courses simultaneously,provided there are no schedule conflicts.
3. Applicants may take a maximum of 150 hours of half-time or evening non-Placement-tied Courses within one year(calculated based on the application date and the start date of the first Placement-tied Courses attended within the past year, including cases where enrollment was confirmed but not attended, or where the course was started but not completed).
4. Applicants may re-enroll in"Skills Upgrading Courses" completed four years or more ago(including those completed under the "Skills Upgrading Program").
Application for Fee Waiver and Tuition Subsidies
Fee waivers and tuition subsidies are base don the employment/income status of students at the time of class placement.Students can apply for a waiver of tuition or tuition subsidies under the following circumstances:
Eligibility for Tuition Waiver: Low income (monthly income* of $14,000 or below) or unemployed/out of work/out of school.
Eligibility for "High Subsidy Tuition": Monthly income* of $14,001 to $22,000.
Paying "General Subsidy Tuition": Monthly income* of $22,001 or above.
*Refers to salary earned from work(including base salary, living allowances, overtime pay, bonuses/commissions,and other allowances, minus mandatory provident fund contributions); or monthly salary.
